On March 24, Yahoo shutdown the dedicated MX that they had established for use by Goodmail participants. Well, we’re seven days in from that and it’s time to check your queues. Did you remember to stop sending mail through Goodmail to the following domains?

rocketmail.com
ymail.com
yahoo.*

If you haven’t, your queues are likely backed up.

A Brief History of Spam

Today, while having a look around my RSS feeds, I came across a blurb at FastCompany.com for its “Infographic of the Day” feature. Today’s feature is “The Spam Industry.” You can click the image for a closer look.

In the graphic you can see the back and forth battle between those purveyors of All That Is Evil, and the ISPs and filter companies that are doing their best to block them. If you’ve ever wondered why your fully opted-in messages are sometimes caught in spam filters and blocked, this graphic should help you to understand why.
