If B2B marketing emails could talk

Mark Brownlow has a hilarious video up on YouTube titled “If B2B marketing emails could talk.” While it’s supposed to be about B2B email, I found it just as applicable to just about everything that gets sent — B2B and B2C alike.

Is this how your email marketing efforts come across to your users?

The question that you have to keep asking yourself has to do with value. What value do your users find in what you’re sending? If you are sending email that they don’t find valuable enough to become part of the conversation concerning, then you’re talking at them just as obnoxiously as this pretend “coffee with a B2B marketing piece” is.
