Fun, fun, fun

Today was the first day of the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group general meeting in San Francisco. I had to sign an NDA to get in today, so I can’t really discuss what was talked about today. I’m sitting in the Abuse Reporting Format Birds of a Feather (ARF BoF for those of you who like TLAs) as I write this. It’s exciting me to tears, but is actually useful.

The big reason for coming to these conferences is face-time with others. I’ve made some good friends already and that’s what this is all about for me.

And, of course, this would be the week for crises at work. On Friday my CEO (at the non-Whizardries job) tells me of a client who has definite problems. We have a conference call on this tomorrow. Also, it appears that Yahoo! has some mail server problems and we’re experiencing a lot of soft bounces. Yes, of course, this would have to happen while I’m unavailable.

  • Yesterday got 5 "notices" from @uscert_gov about "phish" identified by @apwg. Pretty sure that wouldn't come from servers in Europe, though. 2012-01-10
