I am constantly amazed at how callous the purveyors of 419 can be. They use the dead, the dying, and/or fugitives in order to make a quick buck for themselves. Since I know this, then I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but today I got just such an email claiming to be from someone representing the estate of Sir Denis Thatcher:
St. marks Parish
4 Tetlow Lane,
Wimbome DORSET BH21 ILF
london ,uk.
e mail; rev_drdavidblair@hotmail.com
Alternaltive email: revdrdavidblair@yahoo.co.uk
TEL/FAX:congratulations ,
On behalf of the trustees and executor of the estate of Late Sir. Dennis Thatcher, I wish to notify you that late Sir. Dennis Thatcher, made you a beneficiary to his Will. He left the sum of Nine hundred and fifty thousand Pounds Sterling (950,000.00 BPS) to you in the codicil and last testament to his Will. This may sound strange and unbelievable to you, but it is real and true.Being a widely traveled man, he must have been in contact with you in the past or simply you were nominated to him by one of his numerous friends abroad that wished you good. Sir. Dennis Thatcher passed away peacefully in the Lister Hospital London, after a short illness at the age of 88 years. He was businessman and husband to Margaret Thatcher, the former British Prime Minister. He was Born May 10th 1915; died June 26th 2003, and his Will is now ready for execution.
Sir. Dennis Thatcher, until his death was a very dedicated Christian who loved to give out. His great philanthropy earned him numerous awards during his lifetime. In a tribute to him at a News Conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, British Prime Minister Mr. Tony Blair said:
“Sir Dennis was a kind and generous-hearted man, a real gentleman who had many friends here and abroad.
According to him this money is to support your activities and to help the poor and the needy in your country.
Please If I reach you as I am hopeful, endeavor to get back to me as soon as possible, to enable the solicitor
executing the Will to conclude his job. You should forward along your telephone and fax numbers, including your present mailing address.Looking forward hearing from you in no distant time.
Yours in His service,
Rev’d Dr DAVID BLAIR.
(Parish Priest)
Now, I have met the Thatchers (I even have an autographed copy of Baroness Thatcher’s memoirs). But since it was only a meeting in passing in college, and we discussed no charity work which would cause Sir Denis to mark me as a recipient of money for use to help the poor and destitute there is no reason for me to have been included in a codicil to Sir Denis’will.
This really is a variant of a known scam involving Sir Denis’good name. An example can be found here.
Let this be a lesson to you: when it comes to unsolicited email, just because something sounds plausible, it doesn’t mean that it’s true.

O received the “Fr. Luke Allan” e-mail scam twice in two days this week. Suspicious, I checked the Internet regarding the names of Catholic parishes in Dorset. The name of the legitimate one is St. Catherine’s, whose address is given in one of the e-mails above. I wonder if the parish priest and his deacon know that a scam is being perpetrated by Nigerians!) in the name of their church?
i just got one more with Engr. Niklas Heinrich…
i wish they would stop emailing me already.
I also received an email from Peter Wallace associated with Gilbert & Wallace Chames of London UK informing me that I’ve come into a huge inheritance from Eng. Niklas Hienrick.
I answered the original email “Are you kidding?”
He actually answered that email and instructed me to contact him. I decided to look him up on anywho and found your site.
As I always tell my children..if it sounds too good too be true it is:)
Glad I found your site to verify my original thought on this email.
Apparently they do manage to sucker some in on this scam because it is still continuing. One wonders why they continue to get away with it.
Yes, I am the “real” Martin Wilczek, I am very much alive, I am not an engineer but a surgeon, Chief Medical Officer, working with Julius Berger Nigeria Plc. since 1985. I do NOT have 35 Mio bucks and -if possible- I would like to reach my retirement age and enjoy the small money I have with my wife.
Seriously – I feel sorry for everyone who was trapped by these scam mails using my name. Some people contacted me after finding my e-mail in GOOGLE. They all received a short note that the Wallace-Mail is 419.
I am very happy that your site is spreading information to stop all greedy people from falling victim of these criminals.
Please never forget: Don’t believe the unbelievable! Better work for your money and don’t expect a fortune from somebody you do not even know.
Regards from Abuja
Dr Wilczek
Starting the end of November, I’ve kept a folder that I titled “Winner”. Every time one of these magnificent e-mails arrived, I filed them. At present, I am the beneficiary of 43 multi-million plus wills, grants, raffles, etc.
I find it amazing that they continue.
I plan to write an article on these last 43. If anyone cares to send me a comment via this website that I could quote, via cited name or, unnamed source, I would love to have it. I am a journalist and non-fiction authour by profession. and would not bother to write this article were it not for the gullibles that still exist and who are losing their moneys. One of them right here in the Long Island town where I live went with her husband to Paris to meet the man who was going to give them their untold wealth. They lost all that they had saved and ended up having to sell their house and business office here and move somewhere else
Received a version of the Martin Wilczek e-mail scam today from a so-called Barrister Ray Darrick, informing me that I am the beneficiary of $5,100,000. A few changes have been made to the e-mail, as Martin Wilczek is now referred to as Sir and was the partner for an organization called Global Galleries.
I can’t believe that people would be so gullible to fall for this scam.
Reading through all of the posts – these e-mail scams from Nigeria have been happening for a long, long, time. I guess they are getting desperate now and charting new countries because I am from Toronto, Canada.
What irks me is how did these scam artists manage to get my e-mail address? And I hope that this will not be the beginning of a bombardment of scam mail.
I was sent one of these letters not to long ago also why cant someone do something about this scam It horrible to do something like this to people and what do they gain by it? Here is what they sent me.

Hello,
I’m from Belgium, Antwerp. Received an é-mail just like the others, only with another name, it was the late Mr. Heinrich this time. And I too almost fell into this trap. I asked for further details and everything. They’ve sent me a copy of the will and they asked me to open an account with the ukhsbc bank in London. I even received an application form. They notified me that in order to open this accout I have to make a deposit of 200 British Pounds. I mailed them back and told that I didn’have that kind of money and that they could use the money that I was supposed to get from the late Mr. Heinrich.
As I thought this was very strange I looked up “Gilbert & Wallace” and found this site.
Thank you very much. I saved a lot of money this way!
Dominic
Received this e-mail today, USA – Columbus Ohio. New name is Peter Wallace, Esq. (For Trustees) and Managing Partner (Gilbert & Wallace) London – United Kingdom. The benefactor is now a man called Engr. Niklas Heinrich. Thanks for this post did a search on Google and got this post first, it was great.
I was not spared either. All the way to kenya. Sometimes when you are desperate for money, you may strip yourself naked. Luckily, all i gave them was my addresses. Sometimes these guys know perfectly well how to play with our small minds. Watchout!
Luckily, I watch television shows such as Dateline and 20/20. I just received the “Sir Martin Wilczek” email today, but I also received a different one about a week ago. That one tried to tell me that I had won the UK International Online Lottery. That one asked me for more than just a reply and my phone number. Needless to say, I fell for neither one. These clowns…amazing!
